About the Fund
Founded to reflect and honor the late artist, The Wendy Gruber Artist Fund was established shortly after her death in September of 2006. Proceeds from the fund will benefit youth art programs and the newly created Wendy Gruber Career Development Grant, administered by the Marin Arts Council. Along with her talent and warm personality, Wendy based her own success on having acquired solid business skills. This grant captures her vision of artists thriving when given guidance in marketing and business development. The award encourages artists to gather the necessary skills to market themselves more effectively in ways suited to their unique personalities and art. It's intent is for artists to develop their careers while pursuing their own work.
Wendy was a major force and friend at the ICB where she maintained a studio for many years. She was always supportive of other artists and believed in giving back to the art community that had given her so much joy.
